I thinks it all started with the weather via winnipeg, moses, jumper cables, dwarves, (your reference not mine) and Gemini getting caught in a tornado (weather reference to keep this thread on track) of sick twisted posts....

    forecast

    Calgary Snow
    Ft McMurray Snow
    Edmonton, possible rain. (fingers crossed)

Richard...you never want to get those two guys in a room together..trust me. This is the tip of the iceberg. Personally I think they're twins who were seperated at birth.

    In my defence,

I referred to the weather in Edmonton. Calgary, Fort McMurray, Winnipeg, Fargo, Grand Forks, Sherwood Park and Cuba. The thread was never location specific LOL

Weather reference for this post, cloudy, with a bit of breeze.

Insert twilight zone theme here>>>> I was as well in 68. This thread is becoming more intriguing by the day.
As my favourite weather man Bill Matheson would say, "What is this come shambling forth to be born? Keep your eye on the Idaho high!"
He became a routine at 6:15 every evening.Personally, I prefer the Mother Low!

Aside from intriging 2 adoptee's angle, I was born in 62 so that rules out the seperated at birth theory unless we were delivered 6 years apart, though in Rod Serlings Twilight Zone anything is possible, (cue theme music here) F4C can now get "us in stereo" LOL

Weather thread reference Sunny slight breeze 0 to +1 birds are now picking up nesting materials in the backyard and ravine that blew in from Grande Prairie, they seem to be having issues with the powder blue 76 Chevy Chevette that is lodged in the nieghbours Elm though, BC plate BBR 897

There is a valid reason why I don't rake the leaves in the fall. My neighbour discourages not raking and tries for the perfect yard every fall.Knocks me for not following his lead. The April blasts that happen every year deposits my leaves next door and my neighbour rakes them.

Weather update more snow in Calgary, Saskatchewan, and the tar ponds capital for Monday, Edmonton will miss the bullet again.
If you don't want to rake leaves be like my nieghbour and go for that gravel/rock type landscaping and spend your time picking out weeds, and other peoples leaves from those.

I also have come to the conclusion Patricia Hieghts has some strange people in it, after the winds died down today this 20's something guy was trying to launch a really large kite in the schoolgrounds and could not figure out that with no wind it would not fly....... He tried for about an hour back and forth back and forth.....

Oh I don't mind the leaves at all. But since the guy next door is sooooooooooooo willing to. I'd be a prude not to oblige and permit him the fun and exercise.
Did you tell the brainiac he requires a pressure gradient with tighter isobars unlike the loose ones above his shoulders.

No I was afriad the big words would confuse him, that fact that it was totally calm at 2 PM should have been his first clue..........

There was indeed a thunderstorm over central Edmonton earlier in the evening. I saw a few lightning bolts and heard thunder, along with some moderate to fairly heavy rain over my place on Oliver. If nobody saw it over the west end, then maybe it didn't really start to develop until it went over the central part of the city.
Is there hope for Edmonton? Yes!!! The Oilers? Wait and see.

There were about 6 soccer teams on the grounds across from me and I was hoping that it would rain them out!. since they always tend to litter, no such luck! They played until they were done and left the litter behind. yet again.

Thanks for the tip!. Someone must have complained all ready as of noon today there are 7 shiny new black trash bins scattered around the playing fields. in addition to the several that were already next to the baseball diamonds. Hopefully this will be more convenient rather than having to walk up to 50 ft to use the original bins but having said that some people ARE JUST PIGS!

Today I ran out of popsicle sticks for my Ark. Does anybody have any spares?
FYI I saw some ducks in a travel agency this afternoon looking to book a trip to Pensacola, seems they would rather risk tar balls than all this rain.

The absence of rain was about the only thing I liked about Edmonton, Oh well, shouldn't have to wait too much longer before it turns back in to snow.

OMG a backhanded compliment! Your beloved Calgary has been far wetter and colder than Edmonton this spring Or you could be back in Blighty where a "heatwave" could reach almost 19C (At least in Glasgow or Edinburgh) and watch all the NEDS strip off trying to "colour up" their pasty emaciated bods while you are walking around in a hoody trying to stay warm in July with a brisk breeze coming of either the Firth of Forth or the Firth of Clyde.

Thank the Gods! what a fantastic weekend weatherwise, the yard is in top shape, Edmonton was sooo busy with various events in the sunshine from Pride in the Square to various Charity Runs around town, this is what makes this city so great in the summer!

Myself I look like a lobster but it's a good pain!

And now back to our regular programming cloudy with a chance of showers!

I anticipate another strange summer of weather. Remember last summer when part of the CN Tower was blown over and some parts of the city had no power for 20 hours? Also the freak windstorm during the Camrose Jamboree that killed the woman.

p.s...as I type, this is round 3 of thunder and showers tonight.

We could have a summer of hot weather and T-storms or another huge tornado like in 87. We don't know till it happens. Up until that struck we thought killer tornados happened in the US midwest and southern states not Edmonton.

Now due to that tragedy we are probably one of the most tornado savvy cities around. We all watch for funnel clouds now. Calgary tends to worry about huge hailstorms that seem to happen on a regular basis.

    Life on planet earth.

^ Just got back from a company soccer game at the Leg grounds. Considering the crappy summer weather we've had so far, I'll take the heat AND humidity.

But the mosquitoes can go to hell.

Power went out at my place at 9:30 PM.

At 2:00 AM it was restored. My stereo, smoke alarm TV, fans, and lights all came on at once and woke me up and scared the hell out of me.

I counted at least 5-7 booms within 5 seconds or less of their flashes. One was under 2 seconds and nearly made me soil my shorts. Speed of sound is roughly 3 seconds per kilometer, for reference, meaning that there was a whole lot of lightning very, very close last night.

Is it just me or does this summer seem more humid than usual. I arrived home last night from a walk downtown and the air seemed a bit stifling. I checked the Weather Network and the humidity reading was over 70%.

^No, it's not just you. It seems we have been having more humid days than usual due to all the rain which we don't normally get this time of year.
It's hard to sleep at night when it is like this.
Even sweat rolls of your face when your standing still.
Reminds me of Toronto as it gets humid there.

Sweetheart it was just a wee bit of levity in a very murky situation As I am fully aware of the health issues that some people face. But you have to be honest it is somewhat like being too close to a campfire that you just cannot escape. I even notice that with everything shut up it still stunk inside offices etc.

    Unhappy Winter Coming Early?

Can you imagine? It is getting colder and the Farmer's Almanac predicts that we will see our first snow in September! Yeah, no kidding! Even worse, the trees are already starting to turn colour and are falling off the trees.

Uh, I think we are in for a long, long winter. So get your snow shovels out and dig, dig, dig.

Hey! If they ever make snow shovelling an olympic winter sport, we would win since we are so good at it!

As long as it isn't windy, I don't mind this cool weather.

It has actually been a very nice and mild September and October. I hope the weather is calm for Halloween.

I don't know, the year we went to Spooktacular in the driving, snowy wind actually set the mood really well.
