    Chinese-based company Plant Box will make indoor plant growth LED lighting systems as Airport City’s newest tenant, the Edmonton International Airport (EIA) announced Wednesday.

    This is interesting. Some time ago we did a fair bit of testing for an engineer out of Leduc who was working with a Chinese company to develop retrofit LED solutions for commercial lighting systems. I wonder if this is the same company.

    Interesting that EIA is actively looking for new tech and then takes a royalty when it is applied successfully to aviation. Seems low risk, high reward for EIA.

    ^A much needed initiative to diversifying the economic base of the region. By virtue of the role airports play they can be key economic drivers. In Toronto the main center of employment is its downtown which accounts for over 500,000 jobs and second is the area around Pearson Airport which employs 350,000.
    Did my dog just fall into a pothole???
