Herman Wouk, Perennially Best-Selling Author, Dies at 103

Herman Wouk, whose taut shipboard drama “The Caine Mutiny” lifted him to the top of the best-seller lists, where he remained for most of a career that extended past his 100th year thanks to page-turners like “Marjorie Morningstar,” “Youngblood Hawke” and the World War II epics “The Winds of War” and “War and Remembrance,” died early Friday at his home in Palm Springs, Calif. He was 103.

This is a super-loose interpretation of "lives" and "lived" but it's a tragic loss that I think feels "human" to music lovers. The losses are definitely "famous."

My mom bought her 1982 Plymouth Reliant with bench seats for 6 and zero cup holders.

In the next 24 years she put on about 10,000 kms on it driving it to Safeway, the bank and Church.

Us kids put on the other 23,000 km when we came to visit.

It was in near mint condition.

My nephew in Manitoba bought it and put 30,000 km on it in one year. A school bus slid off the road and totaled it.

I am blown away. We wanted to have her up for our continuing push for the Women's Interest Network we partnered with Imperial Oil on this year. I've seen Jessi for a long time in many areas of automotive, racing, and other pursuits. If anything, she was a survivor and a champion of "anyone can do it". She broke the mold of the man's world stereotype, and kicked *** wherever she went.
